This module provides students with an overview of rational behavior of economic agents such as households, firms, industries and governments, in achieving the best outcome of their goals and aspiration, in an increasingly interdependent global economic landscape. It aims to provide students with an in-depth analysis at both the macro and micro level of key issues in economic development such as growth, market structure, poverty measurements, corruption, financial scams, informal credit markets, technology transfers and processes of economic development and social changes that are happening in emerging economies, through the use of theoretical models.
